Frequently asked questions

What exactly is MT940?
An international SWIFT standard for bank statements. Text file with date, amount, description, IBAN — structured for accounting software.
How do I request MT940 from my bank?
In your internet banking under "Downloads" or "Accounting export". ING/Rabobank/ABN call it MT940. Deutsche Bank: "MT940 SWIFT". BBVA: "Norma 43 / MT940".
Can I auto-fetch MT940?
Some banks offer SFTP push: daily MT940 to a server, Invoisio fetches. Premium / Business; ask support for setup.
What if import fails?
Invoisio shows a preview before import. If wrong, cancel and adjust. Parse fail: we show which line breaks the standard.
Does CAMT.053 work too?
Yes. CAMT.053 (XML successor to MT940) is supported. Relevant for German / Spanish banks migrating.
